As well as creating new cycle routes, we’re also exploring ways in which we can ensure our community has access to bikes.
We are currently delivering two initiatives to enable access to bikes:
Second-hand Bike Markets
We host a number of second-hand bike markets throughout the year. Bike Markets are a way to trade in old / unwanted bicycles and buy a safe, fully refurbished bike in exchange. This event is run in partnership with Peddle My Wheels and is funded by Transport for London.
Our most recent bike market was held on Sunday 28th April 2019 at Ponders End Park. To read about it, see here.
Dates for future events will be included in our newsletter, sign-up via the link in the footer.
Dockless Bike Hire
Enfield Council have partnered with London bike brand, Beryl, to bring dockless bike hire back to Enfield! Launching in Summer 2019, people travelling in and around Enfield will be able to hire a bike for short term use. Beryl bikes are fitted with on bike GPS technology and use a smartphone app that unlocks a bike for hire. They also have Beryl’s patented ‘Laserlight’, also seen on the TfL Santander bikes.
